We love working with musicians because we ARE musicians. When we're storyboarding a music video, we want to make sure that the scene and feeling conveyed by the visuals is truly representative of the song, its message, and its tone.
Fracture Mechanics' song "Pride in Nothing" is a master class in duality, so we ran with contrasts between light and dark in our settings, color choices, and lighting.
Beginning in a well-lit living room with a visually engaging yellow patterned wallpaper, the song immediately changes scene to a dark, starkly lit attic with red undertones as Colin, the lead singer, dives headfirst into some intense vocals.
The contrast between these two visual settings serves to highlight the extreme highs and lows in the song as it moves from full-on "screamo" to ethereal, floating vocals.
